Hey,my name is Tia and I was wondering why make up, especially eyebrows, are so important? Lately all over social media, and even my friends, have been obsessed with the use of make up. I see it as them covering up insecurities instead of embracing their natural beauty. Why is everybody so obsessed with eyebrows? Are your eyebrows on fleek? Why does it matter?
Dear Tia,
I can assume that you are speaking on every day makeup, instead of show makeup, fx makeup,or the thousands of other forms of makeup out there. If you would like to know,my eyebrows are always on fleek! In all seriousness, make up is a choice. Individuals wear makeup as a choice. Personally I wear make up every single day. I don't wear it for the approval of others, but because I enjoy wearing. Many people believe that women wear makeup for other people, they are insecure, or to look good for boys (or girls), but that's not the case at all. I would encourage you to watch the video "the Power of Makeup" by Nikki Tutorials. In this video she directly tackles make up shaming. In the video she says "By no means I want to say that if you have insecurities that you should just slap make-up on, feel better, and just never be content with your own self. I just want people to know that make up is fun and there are no rules to make-up. Make-up is there for days when you want to look "really" good!" and I couldn't agree more. The upkeep of your eyebrows are important. They frame your face and can transform your entire look. They are prime real estate on your face. In American culture having thin arched brows are considered beautiful and make you appear high fashion. In Korean culture having straight full brows are seen as youthful and beautiful. Make up is more than wearing huge lashes, red lips, and contouring and highlighting your face beyond compares. It about enhancing your natural beauty. Make up is an art, and if you don't understand it ,it may not be for you.
