“How does it feel to be a High School Student?”
September 23, 2015, I asked Kennedy Berry, a freshman at Arabia Mountain High School, how it felt to be a high school student. Her reply was quite simple “Different!” she said ecstatically. Kennedy is new to the high school environment coming freshly out of the eighth grade. She’s been attending theme schools all her life, so Arabia wasn’t a dramatic change. “Although we wear uniform just like my middle school, Arabia is so much different”, she says. Kennedy went on about the freedom, and responsibilities she has taken on, and how much she enjoys it. My second question for Ms. Berry, was how hard did she think high school was, on a scale from 1-10 she said a 7. Her main reason for this rate was how big the school was, “It’s a lot of walking”, she giggled. She is not used to all the walking and rushing to the classes. My last question was what’s her favorite part about high school? She answered, “The Freedom”. She loved the feeling of being independent. Although she was used to her middle school teachers holding her hand throughout her journey, she loved the independence and becoming a teenager.
