TEN YEARS AFTER THE HORRIFIC HURRICANE KATRINA;
COMMUNITY FINDS PEACE IN TRAGEDY

Late August of 2005, was a devastating week for the whole nation when Hurricane Katrina struck and killed hundreds of people in the United States. Ten years later, affected areas such as New Orleans and Mississippi are still honoring their city by hosting celebrations in their communities and continuing to rebuild what Katrina sadly destroyed.
On Twitter, President Barack Obama reflected on his visit to Treme, a neighborhood in New Orleans, where he tweeted about the progress New Orleans has made post-Katrina but, also, noted the work that still has to be done to the city.
The Saints dedicated their game against the Houston Texans, on August 30th, to the 10 year anniversary of New Orleans surviving Katrina. Coach Sean Payton, even, wore a “Katrina X” on his jacket during the game.
Organizations, club and individuals are all making great contributions towards the welfare of their community in an attempt to regain what they lost from Hurricane Katrina.
