A ROCK HARD HIT

With a score of 6-41, the Arabia Mountain Rams were unsuccessful in their first game of the season. Despite the spirited crowd, the team was not able to deliver a win. The coaches on both teams, and the players from AMHS had comments about the big game.
We had the chance to interview Stephenson's head football coach, Coach Gartrell.
How do you feel about tonight’s win? “It was a big win—it was the first game of the season and you want to try to be as sharp as you can. We made some mistakes here and there, but overall I think we played pretty good.”
How do you think this one game is going to resonate for the rest of the season? “It's a momentum builder—you always want to win. It leaves a good taste in your mouth. We're excited about the season, our kids are playing extremely hard, our coaches are working hard and Arabia has a good team. “
He continued on with his opinion of the AMHS team. “They're a young team; y'all hang in there and continue to support them. They’ll be fine. “
We also had the chance to interview Coach Pritchett, the head football coach of Arabia, about the team's performance.
What do you think the biggest challenge was for you guys tonight? “I think Stephenson was a stronger team than us. We're a young team. We had lost a lot of seniors though—we're going to get better. I told the team I still think we're a good team, we've just got to keep working to get better next week.”
When asked about comments for the rest of the season, the coach responded with enthusiasm for the next practice on Monday, “We're going to make some changes and we're going to go from there.”
Senior Robert Vincent of Arabia Mountain, who ran the ball nearly thirty-five yards within the last few minutes of the third quarter, also had comments on the game, “How much you [want to bet] we're going to win the next one? Sometimes you've got to get knocked down, but it's how you get back up; in Jesus Christ's name, Amen.”
