The Sacred Art of Loving Yourself
Self-confidence is something no one will give to you, nothing that you buy, and nearly impossible to create. It is something that some of us lack in and it is also something that few of us are strong in. Self-confidence is not something that you can just dream about and wake up one morning and become the most confident person known to man; instead it is a learned trait that varies from person to person.
Self-confidence is also hard to balance--abuse it and you can easily become the most arrogant individual known to man and if you don’t then you might as well decide to fade into the background and not worry about having a social life. In high school many of us are faced with this problem.
A vast majority of us has to deal with the problem of loving ourselves. We often compare ourselves to our peers, which leaves little to no room to appreciate our selves. As a result we make create unnecessary anxieties that could possibly lead into depression.
Fortunately, there are many ways that you can prevent yourself from falling into the trap of lack of self-confidence:

A vast majority of us has to deal with the problem of loving ourselves. We often compare ourselves to our peers, which leaves little to no room to appreciate our selves. As a result we make create unnecessary anxieties that could possibly lead into depression.
Fortunately, there are many ways that you can prevent yourself from falling into the trap of lack of self-confidence:
- Maintain a positive attitude. Although it seems to be nearly impossible with the weight of school work, home, extra-curricular activities, friends, and work, you can always try to remember something that your looking forward to or something that made you smile previously to help you keep going.
- Always be prepared. It is hard to believe that you can pass a test when you did not study for it, so preparation is key to having faith in your abilities.
- Stand by what you believe in. Live by and act on your principles, self-confidence is the act of believing in yourself, so if you do not believe in what you try to live by then how can you believe in yourself.
- Be grateful. Everyone does not have the same opportunities or lifestyle that you have. So be appreciative of what you have because the same thing that you do not like could be something that somebody may wish they had.
